“She has been coming on leaps and bounds since being with you. I don’t know what you are doing with her in the sessions but it is making a big difference.”
About Cherelle
With 17 years of experience as a professional artist, my art practice is central to my own healing journey and I know for myself how transformative art can be in promoting and maintaining wellbeing. My practice is based in collage and photomontage but I have worked across many disciplines, including: drawing, painting, film, photography, animation, sound and installation.
I love to learn new skills so wherever I can, I’m trying out new materials and techniques.
I’ve delivered creative workshops as a freelancer for close a decade and in addition to this, I’ve worked within an alternative school provision working with young people aged between 11-25 as Visual Arts Lead for 5 years.
Sessions with me are relaxed and special interest or material led- a space to decompress where you can share ideas and/or feelings.
Depending on how you are feeling, we can chat about what’s on your mind, or make some art, or both. There’s no pressure to follow a curriculum but if there are skills you’d like to learn or specific techniques you’d like to try, I’m here to help.
Young people attend sessions for all kinds of reasons, some include: having trouble making friends, changes at home, low confidence, trouble self regulating, changing schools etc.
What to expect:
A cosy space where you can share your interests & ideas, laugh, be listened to, draw, paint, ask questions, make a bit of a mess (if you like). We have lots of different materials to explore and express yourself with and the opportunity to try things out in a non-judgemental, un-pressured environment.
